Easter in Edinburgh and Bamburgh
We just got back from a holiday, first in Edinburgh with Hilary and family (see photos immediately above). We all had great fun at the Edinburgh International Science Festival (I especially enjoyed the theremin); hunting for easter eggs a day early (pictures above those) and a very windy walk along the river Almond.
We then had a week in Bamburgh, Northumberland at a holiday cottage we've been to before (see more photos even further above). We enjoyed days at Bede's World (Jarrow), Cragside, Wallington, "Pot-a-Doodle-Do" (yes, I know, but the food was excellent and it was a grand entertainment for the kids on a wet day), the crazy golf course at Seahouses (which, unsurprisingly perhaps, does not have its own web presence yet, but, surprisingly perhaps, does appear to have a fan who has photographed it all) and of course on the beach beside the cottage, playing football, flying the kite and failing lamentably to play cricket in the fierce wind, but most of all just wandering about.
